Outlook 2016 (Desktop client) Encrypted connection to your - Microsoft Community


hello,

i have seen many posts similar happening system still can't figure out. need help. 

we have business , run of our computers through our domain server dell server pet110ii windows server 2012 r2.

have several computers- on windows 10. have ms office home & business 2013- new computer first , 1 2016.

i purchased new desktop- hp prodesk 600 g2 small form factor pc windows 10 (it came win 7 did upgrade).

purchased , downloaded ms office 2016. tried set outlook email using route of going through control panel- mail etc. in fact have tried multiple different ways of trying add exchange email , comes same error-
"an encrypted connection mail server not available. click next attempt using unencrypted connection"

our exchange hosted through rackspace. have talked them many times trying figure out. of autodiscovery settings show correct etc.

tried calling ms tech support- no help- in fact want charge me $400 see if can fix though purchased product.

called hp , it's not hardware problem it's ms problem.

called our firewall guys- , isn't problem.

checked our guy (not in house 1 set our server) , doesn't know either , said talked else , don't know either.

have read through multiple threads here , can't seem find work me.

i'm @ wits end.


doesn't seem bit insane? new everything, should piece of cake set , 2 weeks later still not able work on new computer. 

please if can , if need more information happy share it!

are able add account on outlook 2013 machines using autodiscover? 

to check autodiscover try running outlook autodiscover test here, https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com.  if autod is working should show "connectivity test successful" once finished.  , if not errors might indicate issue.

just let know outlook 2016 requires autodiscover working.  not have option manually configure accounts.  it best autod working short term workaround install office 2013 on machine , manually configure until is.  rackspace should able give you server settings connect with.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
