couldn't agree more. use ppt 2010 @ work , 2016 @ home , auto spelling language changes drive me crazy. set english, type sentence, hit line break , changed german again, no obvious reason @ all. make things worse, if 1 text box contains languages, marking whole box makes language selection @ bottom of ppt disappear. spell check changes languages within sentence, e.g. if add chinese characters in between.

@microsoft: helpful, if automatic spelling language changes disabled altogether, possible in outlook.

we understand having issues auto spelling language. issue may occur if detect language automatically option enabled on word , outlook. detects language typing , automatically enables proofing tools language.

to disable automatic spelling language, please refer steps below:

  1. open new document or email message.

  2. on review tab, in language group, click language.

  3. click set proofing language. scroll through list select language want,

  4. in language dialog box, uncheck detect language automatically check box.

  5. click ok.
