Error code -3253 - Microsoft Community


hi,

i bought macbook pro (os x el capitan, version 10.11.6) , office mac 2016 (not 365) in last october.

installed. works except outlook...

after setting new account, emails on server downloaded successfully, cannot send email out.

error report showed: connection server failed or dropped. error code : -3253

i found problem out going port cannot changed 25 465 checked "override default port". changed 25 after closing window.

i tried uninstall / reinstall office. problem persists.

our server doesn't support ssl connection, still doesn't work checked ssl connection box.

tried other possible ports, still doesn't work. (i'm desperate!!)

can issue? lots.

it doesn’t make sense port can’t changed in outlook 2016 mac “override default port” selected.

 

i have run test in outlook 2016 mac (mac os: ei captain 10.11.6) can found default port changed. way, using app (outlook 2016 mac) downloaded office 365 portal.

 

since said not using office 365, can clarify how downloaded office apps (including outlook 2016 mac)? please not third-party’s apps (outlook 2016 mac) may cause such problem.
