outlook for mac freezes (OS 10.12.5 Sierra) - Microsoft Community


have mac macos sierra version 10.12.5 , have had issues microsoft office 2016 outlook word , excel locking up.  when locks up, microsoft error reporting appears  and locks also.  i have force quit microsoft error reporting , restart outlook multiple times open up.  all office products date. outlook version 15.35 (170610).  this happened previous operating system mac seems worse. has microsoft come solution?

hi rusty,

first exclude if issue caused other program on mac, please start mac in safe mode performs checks , prevents software automatically loading or opening. if ok in safe mode, issue related third-party add-ins, webex. please check , remove them.

if issue still exists, confirm following information:

1.       did configure account outlook mac when issue happens, or outlook freeze when don’t add accounts it?

2.       if have configured account outlook, please create test profile in outlook mac , configure exchange account see if same issue happens. please follow article:

note: before creating test profile, please outlook data export items archive file in outlook mac to prevent data loss.

3.       please provide entire error report log. in order protect privacy, have sent private message collect it.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
