hi guys,

i need little help. our users have reported strange behavior - emails disappearing after read.

they watching behavior time (but weren't sure - since exchange lot of emails), sure. 1 of our users send email 2 others on 21.12.2016 , both of them received it. after that, both read , can't find (although they can find other emails a sender in inbox - behavior irregular). , looks problem in our domain (no external emails missing).

can me?

hi almer,

firstly, find unexpected behavior appeared in march last year , fixed in subsequent outlook windows version detailed version 16.0.6568.2036. solution make sure office click-to-run installation @ version 16.0.6568.2036 or later. more information, please refer article:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3145116

since situation mentioned above using “old” outlook version (16.0.6568.2036) , emails downloaded via pop3, i’d collect following information better understand situation.

  1. the detailed version of recipients’ outlook client.

  2. how 2 recipients configure outlook client, via exchange, imap or pop3?

  3. let sender send test email via outlook web app (owa: https://outlook.office365.com/owa) , check if same issue persists on 2 recipients via owa.

  4. what kind of email service use, office 365 exchange online email service or none-office 365 exchange online email service (like gmail)?

  5. if using office 365 email service, please create in-place ediscovery search in organization 2 recipients check if “missing” emails still exist in server side.

note: please add administrator’s account discovery management admin role group before doing ediscovery search.

thanks,

gary
