PowerPoint 2016 embedding YouTube video not working - Microsoft Community

i have same issue. noticed when attempted run slide show containing embedded .avi video clip. same slide show works fine on machine created on, windows 10 laptop running office 2016 home , student. i recently installed office 2016 professional (not 365) on desktop , discovered not not run original slide, hang powerpoint caused program restart attempt. @ point powerpoint marks file "bad" , you're out of luck with trying run file again until re-enable it through file/options/add-ins/manage/disabled items.

the way offending file embed inserting using option "video on pc" load video file location. @ point powerpoint realizes file needs "upgrading", spends few seconds doing inserts properly.

my powerpoint version is  2016 mso (16.0.4498.1000) 32-bit.

i'll point out insert "from video embed code" doesn't work either. causes unknown error , unsuccessfully restarts powerpoint. i've tried various youtube videos, same result.

using direct youtube option insert video works doesn't work if provide exact url using copy/paste. here's example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m4j_svhsps. takes trailer of fifties sci-fi film "when worlds collide" in browser, when paste search youtube dialog box in powerpoint no search results [url].

unfortunately seems me older get, more seems these programs more complex, less easy use, , more prone crashing, fewer , fewer benefits.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
