PowerPoint Issue Using Shapes and Background Image - Microsoft Community


hello,

first of all, reaches out me solve puzzling issue. firstly, problem has slide master , normal views, dealing issues of background image overlapping foreground content. please see below step step illustrations below:

here slide have built in slide master view. designed have picture placeholder used background, behind all content, , there smaller picture placeholder in foreground, text, etc. can see.

when go normal view test slide , place photo intended go in background, either clicking icon or dragging picture, end having issue seen in next illustration:

 when testing background picture placeholder, arranged in very far back, behind all content, goes behind exception of blue rectangular shape, circled in picture, (full view of how supposed in previous steps) buried behind image.

what know:

  • the blue rectangle shape made using shape tool in powerpoint in presentation. shape copied , pasted template have built.
  • seeing if had copying , pasting, have tried create same rectangle directly in template in slide master view , issue remained.
  • when attempt reorder content in normal view by clicking home>arrange>reorder objects, blue rectangle not show in layers. when same thing in slide master view, rectangle shows in layers.

any , appreciated, thank much!

sorry, can't that. powerpoint inverts layout layers on slide.

one workaround make master elements placeholders, not mix of autoshapes , placeholders. placeholders remember z-order on slide, expect. 1 example, blue bar across slide text placeholder blue fill formatted "type heading here" still fell @ same position in screen shot.

the alternative provide sample slide actual picture on slide instead of placeholder on layout. not elegant, works.

i've created suggestion on powerpoint user voice forum recommending should work way think should work. placeholders , shapes stacked on layout, should display same way on slides. can vote idea here: layout shapes , placeholders should keep stacking order on slide it's in windows section of powerpoint, if microsoft gets enough votes there, changed in versions.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
