Can I revert to an older version of Office-365/Outlook that will - Microsoft Community

outlook 365/outlook 2016 hangs @ “loading profile” (again, , again, , again… on multiple systems)

i have seen many postings users having problems microsoft outlook 2016 hanging during startup.  the outlook banner open , message “loading profile” appear, while small dots race 1 side of banner other.

since family , have similar computers, running purported same revisions of windows-10 , office-365/2016, suffering similar (microsoft) failures.  (yes, emphasis deliberate – the non-microsoft applications use work fine.)  since end of 2016, have had frequent, recurring problems our systems – days problems manifest same, while other days microsoft apps work on 1 system while fail on another.  the failures have been noticeable outlook, there have been other intermittent , erratic issues well.  some days, windows-10 mail not work, windows-10 news, , family members have encountered problems microsoft games.

i gather of postings see microsoft aware of problems outlook (office 2016), , may trying resolve them.  is there way turn off automatic updating , go older, stable version of office can can limp through our days, getting done need done, while microsoft figures out problem is, , fixes it?

i have tried steps outlined in microsoft support bulletins, including: checking see if dialogue boxes open (none were); trying start outlook in safe mode; checking windows-10 , office updates; repairing installation of office; running data file repair tool (scanpst.exe); , re-creating outlook profile.  i have checked available updates device drivers our systems.

i spent 1 entire day on telephone microsoft support, watching first, second, , third tier support reps connected remotely pc investigate , repair problem.  at end of day, after office-2016 had been removed , reinstalled 1 of support reps told automatic update process office-2015 office-2016 had failed, leaving small pieces of office-2015 behind.  the rep went on explain these small pieces of office-2015 had fouled office-2016.  that sounded good, until outlook failed again 2 days later…

my family , not have time continue “try this” , “try that”, our computers running have reasonable expectation should, have microsoft applications fail again in similar manners, day after day.

anti-virus , anti-spyware up-to-date , active. a/v & a/s scans of systems clean. few applications used – typically excel, word, outlook , firefox, few if add-ins.

please help...

i can't answer problem, support person whom spoke clueless if s/he mentioned "office 2015". there no such product. office 2013 preceded office 2016 , there no "outlook 365", either.
