Question regarding Office 2013 - Microsoft Community

last evening, got bright idea go system properties , change custom adjust best performance. ok although didn't see increase in performance. rebooted machine , outlook 2013 wouldn't open. got message read "this system not configured run program" , same goes word.

i tried opening in safe mode , wouldn't go either. kept trying , went control panel , @ profiles in outlook 2013. reason, want there 3 profiles still two. 1 called new , other called outlook. clicked on outlook @ checked off "always use profile." still didn't work. therefore did repair on microsoft office , did nothing either.

i rebooted , still nothing happen , got same message mentioned above. kept trying , outlook came in safe mode. closed , clicked on icon , came normally. word not come up. gave me same message.

i shut computer down , rebooted , still nothing. outlook 2013 wouldn't come again. repeated safe mode thing , came normally.

this morning, got ready call support before did, rebooted machine , comes outlook no problem. clicked on word , comes no problem. shut system down, rebooted , working flawlessly. has idea why happened , should expect same thing again maybe? i'll appreciate help. thanks.

you not alone although never had outlook opening in safe mode great message @ least dozen orm ore people seemed have had yesterday. rebooted twice , got messages word, excel , outlook. planning reapir office rebooted , found no problem. btw away @ dinner 2 hours makes 1 think vthere background update or fix happening, knows?

if go out , @ similar strings or threads, might see of ways people achieved fix, including pulling batteries, full reinstall, etc.,

as me, want know why occurred, why happened on same day many people, fix needed (if 1 needed), , happen again?
