Outlook 2016 - Something went wrong and your search couldn't be - Microsoft Community


please help!

i have been getting error message 

went wrong , search couldn't completed

when searching mailboxes in outlook 2016.

it not show when searching single folder, show when searching 'all outlook items' or folders.

i have pst, , archive pst , ost hotmail.

i have tried 

re-indexing, several times

the scan pst tool, , repairing pst - interestingly after repairing pst files, when scan them again have errors

changing properties on individual pst ost files include file contents searching

a full clean install of windows 10 , outlook 2016

i have tried using pst few weeks ago know didn't have issue.

this causing me serious headaches work , looks though lots of peopl havin similar problems.

any new advice gratefully received.

update: workaround seems to wait until fails click "search in email stored on computer". search proceeds correctly. but, bug needs fixing.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
