Outlook send/receive POP3 fails - Microsoft Community


outlook 2016 (from office 365 installation) fails receive/send mails pop3 account on running private mail server.

exchange account works fine.

error: outlook cannot find mail server. note requirements right-password, user, server etc.

i have same installation of office 365 on notebook, same exchange account , pop3 account , s working well.

im using same norton internet security on both machines. have clean installation of win10 x64 pro on desktop.

hi mike,

 

to correct issue, please ensure have correct port numbers incoming , outgoing servers. follows.

incoming server – 995 ssl encryption

outgoing server - 465 or 587 ssl encryption

if issue persists above settings, i’d confirm following information better understand situation:

1. can please send screenshot error message?

2. what’s detailed version of affected outlook client?

3. please create new profile see if issue persists in new profile. (please don’t remove old profile in case new profile doesn’t work)
