Outlook 2016 deleting email from server even when asking not to do it - Microsoft Community


hi,

i have microsoft surface pro 4 running windows 10 , hp pro tablet 608 running windows 10 also.

bothe have microsoft office 365 installed , on both have configured 3 emails in outlook.

on hp pro tablet, have checked "leave message on server" can consolidate message on ms surface pro. unfortunately, outlook still deletes messages server.

i have latest versions of softwares installed , have read , tried of available around subject.

would great understand how fix can't use outlook on tablet.

according description, understanding affected account (outlook deleted emails of server) pop account. please clarify if situation misunderstood.

if case, emails deleted server should have copy in outlook. pop account’s mechanism (emails left copy local/outlook). so, please re-confirm this.

and, while configuring pop account in outlook client, there option “remove server after <x> days”. if option enabled/selected (for example, x 4) messages removed server after 4 days. under such circumstance, same account configured same method (pop) still not synced pc. if so, disable/unselect option. here article reference.
 

in addition, affected account/pc, make sure outlook’s “autoarchive” hasn’t been enabled. detailed performance should “file”> “options”> “advanced”> “autoarchive” (run autoarchive every n days).
