Saving and Opening shadow display issue between Powerpoint 2007 and - Microsoft Community

i have been continuing work on powerpoint presentations church's contemporary service.   have been creating song powerpoint presentations on powerpoint mac 2011.

(previously, had been creating them on powerpoint 2003 on windows computer, found there many display issues that, created new powerpoint presentations on mac, powerpoint 2003 out of mix.)

i have been using arial font new presentations.

because need check each presentation computer used on sunday mornings, save folder powerpoint presentations saved on mac thumb drive, , open them on computer used on sunday mornings.  check presentations on computer can see how projected on big screen.  if need change font colors, that.   if there changes need made, save on thumb drive, , mac.

the laptop used on sunday mornings runs on windows 8, , uses powerpoint 2007.

a couple weeks ago, went through powerpoint files had done , found text on screen looked best if had black shadowing effect.  (i had white shadowing compare how looked on big screen -- know better.)

i fixed text showed black shadowing effect (except black text, used white shadowing effect for).  text looked crisp , stood out backgrounds on mac.  saved everything, , copied entire folder these presentations stored thumb drive.

this past sunday pulled files thumb drive , found powerpoint 2007 did not display changes had made of files.  read files were, , did not acknowledge of changes had made shadowing on file tried.

however, when opened same files on mac thumb drive, changes in place.  displayed should have.

now, on windows 8 computer, can change font color , save file on thumb drive.   save , open updated file, when open file on mac, displays old shadowing white new font color, isn't files write protected or anything.

i don't know issue -- whether windows 8, powerpoint 2007, or how mac saves , opens powerpoint files.

can me understand going on?   thanks.

>> looking @ link provided, looks able save pptx files, if file needed changed.   sounds good.

perhaps, i'd count on fundamental powerpoint truth:  every time move presentation 1 file format (ppt vs pptx) or 1 platform (windows vs mac), bad things happen nice presentations.

i'd @ compat pack way let others view files on older versions of office wouldn't encourage them make edits , save.

>> how able check see if computer had installed?  want check hp laptop see if have it.  want know if church computers had it

it's been while since installed around here; think can @ control panel | programs , features (add/remove programs on older versions of windows) , see if it's there.

but hey, i'm sloth:  save pptx 2007 pc, put on thumb drive , see if older pcs open it.  if so, they've been compatibleizeicated.

thanks.   being able open pptx files in powerpoint 2003 enough.  don't think need make changes , save files.  case other computers @ church.

i did check on hp computer -- it's same before.  able open pptx files, read only.  must have had program installed on computer.  i'm not sure why description said save , edit pptx.  doesn't matter now, though, doing presentations on mac.  if need check presentation in ppt 2003, can @ least view files, , enough.

the mac/windows powerpoint issue unavoidable in case, think have figured out of problems that.  powerpoint 2007 seems more sensitive ppt vs. pptx powerpoint mac 2011.  know sure if there more display problems when check files again on sunday.

it's lot of experimenting , testing things out see works best.

i let know if seems solved.
