hi experts:

thank of input!

using “mark read” command via right click solved original posted problem.

the ancillary problem posted (and answering this; i'm newbie, know it's not kosher post 2 questions in 1 post...) still bit puzzling.

most importantly, can indeed transfer outlook 2016 database by copy , pasting entire <profile> folder computer, we're 2/3 of way there.

but 2 puzzling behaviours remain:

  1. discrepant size estimates: out of curiosity, why the <profile> folder have size of ~2 mb when 1 "get info" on it, when copy it, size ~20 gb (and overall size estimate updates during copy process mb mb, rather saying, "2.3 gb of 20 gb copied", says, "2.3 gb of 2.31 gb copied", overall size keeps incrementing 20 gb.
  2. links encrypted image don't work. copy , pasting entire <profile> folder library works outlook 2016. however, e-mail data base not reside on specific encrypted disk image. outlook 2011, outlook database resides on specially encrypted disk image. when wish run outlook 2011, decrypt encrypted disk image resides on desktop, launch outlook 2011. there symlink in home>documents>folder points "microsoft user data" resides on encrypted disk image. process works great in office 2011 , has advantage of storing e-mail on specially encrypted disk image. when try similar "trick" in outlook 2016, doesn't follow symlink (also tried alias no luck either) , can't find the <profile> folder starts new (empty) database. there way outlook 2016 go find the <profile> folder on encrypted disk image (once it's been decrypted, of course) rather "insisting" reside within library folder?

here answers questions:

  1. outlook profile folder contains coach, attachments, data base. may display issue when click info in mac. may wait while when open info window.
  2. outlook 2011 using custom database engine, while outlook 2016 using sqlite database. sqlite self-contained sql database engine in public, , included in mac os x. description, use “symlink” redirect outlook find profile in encrypted disk image. think that’s problem.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
