Outlook Inbox Intermittently Not "Refreshing" To Show New - Microsoft Community


hello everyone,

i had posted in previous thread advised split out outlook question i'm encountering 2 separate problems.  hope can help.

  • at work, on-prem our email , had single sign on.
  • in april, migrated on o365.  once happened:
    • on desktop:
      • emails arrived in inbox, hear alert, see preview see in inbox , not.  hitting send/receive nothing.  i have browse away inbox (to folder or calendar) browse , new emails show up.  it's intermittent can't reproduce it.  *grrr*
      • my desktop windows 7 enterprise, sp 1.  when problem started, on windows 2013 on desktop.
    • on laptop #2:
      • the "invisible" emails occur on laptop well.  again, intermittent.
      • my laptop windows 10 , windows 2016 (not click run)
  • in may, upgraded office 2016 (not click run) on desktop.
    • it made no difference issues described above.

no solutions attempted since can't reliably reproduce problem.  please , thank you!

first of all, i’d know whether other users in company encounter problem. if so, problem may related settings in office 365 tenant.

 

since using office 2016 now, focus on outlook 2016 client. please download microsoft support , recovery assistant office 365, install application, , choose outlook > i have problems sending , receiving mails troubleshoot problem.

 

sometimes email delay problems related outlook client’s cache exchange mode. please navigate file > account settings > account settings > double click email address , deselect “use cache exchange mode”. also, can try using quick repairto repair outlook client.

 

if problem still persists, please provide following information us:

1. what version of outlook use?it looks 16.0.8067.2115.

2. if not browse folders, emails appear in inbox after while?

3. problem occur on emails received or emails specific users?

 

besides, recommend download outlook client office 365 portal. office 365 applications stay up-to-date , provide better user experience.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
