outlook on mac - changed profile and now cannot access old emails - Microsoft Community


trouble shooting problem in outlook on mac, changed profile , identity. when  use mac search find old email, mac search finds email, when try open it, error message:

outlook cannot open file because not associated default identity

this means years of emails need access not available. options?

in post previous yours, lance, posted , ms tech did , end result.

the tech came onto computer , exported 'sent' messages each of 3 previous profiles archive. changed default profile correct one, , in tnow current default profile, imported sent messages.

the end result have 3 different sent folders, each series of sent messages matching dates when previous profiles active. 

after did this, finder not access sent folders. tech told me wait 24 hour indexing complete. (i had several gb of sent messages.) after 36 hours, finder access , open sent messages -- result wanted. in addition, earlier problem, sent messages displayed name in viewing panel, rather name of recipient, no matter if panel set 'to' or 'date sent' or else -- problem fixed.

so can that, of ms community techs , additional of ms techs reached telephone, came onto computer fix, problem solved.
