Outlook stops working - Microsoft Community


a problem has developed on last couple of weeks whereby outlook stops working unexpectedly , either restarts automatically or have restart it. have tracked down sub folder in mime e-mail account - click on folder outlook appears attempt synch , stops working. wonder if may related specific e-mail but, if so,  i can't identify one.

i have taken following steps:

  • an outlook 'account repair'
  • using scanpst on ost file (it found errors, repaired them problem didn't  go away)
  • deleted ost file , letting outlook recreate it
  • deleting e-mail account , recreated it.

i thought last step had worked - using outlook ok while ost file being created. checked folders in account , none appeared cause problem. folder giving problem quite large (~600kb) , syching appeared going fine in background problem has recurred.  i suspect there must e-mail in there somewhere causing problem don't know how find out one.

i running latest version of outlook (from office 365 home subscription) on windows 10.

any advice on how track down , cure problem welcome!

further info - can see 4 e-mails corrupted dates (two show 01/01/1601) suspect corruption in ost result of synchronisation!
