Auto Fill / Complete Issue - Microsoft Community

we have been on outlook 2016 version 1704 (build 8067.2102). have been using imail listservs , noticed issue auto complete feature assigning existing contacts these listserv emails on existing contacts email 2 field. seems auto complete assigning not our listserv emails email comes in may have similar name. please see linkedin request below.

from knowledge, under impression suggested contacts populate there must have been send-receive chain of events. seems feature logging emails coming in same display name.

has run this? have reported microsoft directly on , on escalation level 3 , have yet hear anyone.

it's possible directory or folder previous email client stores auto-fill information same directory outlook acquires such information well.

however, know more can understand situation better. kindly answer these questions:

• is first time you're experiencing issue?
• have other users used email client on same computer?
• was auto-complete list been imported affected computer?

if yes answer questions, confirm our suspicions. in case, suggest clearing outlook auto-complete cache. here's how can so:

1) click the windows start icon , type run.

2) type outlook.exe /cleanautocompletecache.

note: if outlook not installed in default location, must point path of outlook.exe. may refer support article more information.

once cleared, should able use outlook without issues. otherwise, feel free reply , we'll continue helping you.
