Images in presentation disappear - and are replaced with 'The - Microsoft Community

mac osx 10.11.6

office 365  / powerpoint 15.30

i've seen id rfd2 error , "this image cannot displayed" more times can count. i've saved documents placed images (png or jpg files) , reopen find 70% of images missing. if file corrupted, why open without error message?

this not efficient way work when i'm chasing images each time create , edit ppt document.

what missing here -- beyond images?

issue, i'd confirm following things:

1. affected powerpoint file located? in hard disk or removable media?
2. powerpoint file synced cloud (e.g. onedrive)?
3. generally, if see error, means powerpoint file damaged. if can find original pictures, remove , re-add them file?
