Network pst file no longer loading in office 365 outlook 2016 - Microsoft Community


since tuesday, of our staff in office unable open pst files in outlook 2016 (office 365) share drive. try open it, outlook crashes. when go outlook, data file listed "unavailable" if take pst file , move share drive, same thing happens. occurs new pst files , existing files. if take off share drive , move desktop, works fine. we're stumped because until week, there no issues pst files on our share drives. advice appreciated why no longer working on share drives

when user uses outlook client, recommended pst file stored on local computer. according description, reason want store pst file in cloud service avoid data loss. if office 365 user, i’d remind office 365 supports feature place mailboxes on hold.

 

meanwhile, if wants use outlook on wan or lan links, highly efficient configure outlook connect exchange server mailbox in online mode while using microsoft windows terminal server service. details, can refer “microsoft terminal services” part in article ruel mentioned.

 

based on current situation, recommend check connection between outlook client , cloud service using, , network environment. if many users access cloud service @ same time, connection may affected, causing outlook client hang or crash.
