Outlook 2016 and gmail - Microsoft Community


trying add gmail based email outlook 2016. following of steps gmail allow access using imap.  when in outlook using appropriate servers 993 , 465.

logging in goes complete

getting following error message test email:

send test email message: cannot send message. verify email address in account properties.  the server responded: 530 5.5.1  https://support.google.com/mail/?p=wantautherror i7sm7264109ioe.48 - gsmtp

may know if have enabled imap or pop access gmail add account application?

you may refer below see server settings imap server in outlook:

  • imap incoming server: imap.gmail.com
  • imap port: 993
  • imap ssl: yes
  • smtp outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com
  • smtp port: 587
  • smtp ssl or tls: tls
  • pop incoming server: pop.gmail.com
  • pop port: 995
  • pop ssl: yes
