problems with MS Outlook 2007. - Microsoft Community
i've got problems ms outlook 2007. went on quota , didn't know how fix created new .pst file receives emails unless they contain pictures, bounces sender , tells me i'm on quota. suspect outlook still looking @ old .pst file , saying it's on quota. need rename .pst files point outlook 1 i'm using?

"over quota" warning means mail account has exceeded (or exceed) default email account space limitation of 1gb (1000mb). first notice issued when account reaches 900mb. if issue not addressed , 1gb quota reached, not able send mail , new mail addressed returned sender.
best strategy avoid getting close quota vigilant managing mail on daily basis, if "over quota" warning, follow suggestions below relatively quick relief.
method 1: empty trash
in outlook, right-click trash folder , select empty "trash" folder popup menu. in webmail, right-click trash mailbox , choose empty trash.
have outlook automatically empty trash every time exit program, click tools, select options, click [other] tab. check "empty deleted items folder upon exiting", click [ok] button.
method 2: delete copies of mail sent
delete sent mail in outlook, right-click sent mailbox , select delete key. move items trash can empty. in webmail, click sent mailbox open it, click checkbox @ top of checkbox column select messages in mailbox, click delete button.
delete some, not all, sent mail, open sent mailbox , select individual messages before deleting. select range of messages, click first 1 in range shift-click last one. (hold [shift] key , click message). select multiple individual messages, control-click each message. (hold [ctrl] key while clicking each message).
note every time send attachment someone, copy of attached file created in sent folder. sending multiple versions of same document colleagues can add lot of unnecessary files in sent mailbox. easy strategy cleaning mail account delete attachments in sent mailbox. (remember—the originals exist somewhere else).
if need save sent messages, consider how long need retain them, sort mailbox date , use range selection method above delete messages no longer needed. if need retain sent messages, consider archiving them on hard drive instead of leaving them on mail server.
