Retention policy in Office Prof Plus 2016 - Microsoft Community


i have retention policy in outlook deletes emails after 6 days. not have options change or stop dumb feature. have auto archive settings set 'do not archive' folder messages still have expiration date. answer desk told me can't change or stop happening. is truth or can somehow stop happening?

why have undesirable feature can't turned off!!!

hi mike,

email can fill outlook inbox – new messages, replies, , forwards. before know it, have thousands of messages. keep outlook inbox , folders under control moving older items want keep archive. use autoarchive automatically. however, microsoft gives option not archive emails automatically. in outlook 2016, can turn off auto archive function follows:

  1. click on file > options.
  2. in outlook options dialog box, please click advanced in left pane, , click autoarchive settings button.
  3. in autoarchive dialog box, please uncheck run autoarchive every x days box click ok button close it.
  4. when returns outlook options dialog box, please click ok button.
