Typing Lag in Outlook 365 - Microsoft Community


hello.  i have serious problem typing lag in outlook 365 appeared start after last office 365 upgrade.  i can 20 30 characters again before catch , lag repeats.  opening emails appears have been affected in can take many seconds before open.  thoughts.  thanks

based on description, understand there cursor lagging when typing message in outlook after updating. , i suggest first try disable animated cursor registry editor following steps below:

  • search regedit , press enter;
  • find path: hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\16.0\common\graphics\;
  • change disableanimations dword reg key = 1;
  • if don’t have reg key/folder, please create new folder named graphics under 16.0 , add new dword value , set disableanimations=1.

note: please back registry  before changing it.

if methods above doesn’t work, suggest following troubleshooting steps:

  1. to identity if add-ins cause abnormal operation of outlook, run outlook in safe mode holding windows key , pressing r, typing outlook.exe /safe in open field , click ok.

    2.  if issue still exists after doing methods above, better understanding situation, please provide video symptom?

in order protect privacy, have sent private message collect symptom.

      3.  how many accounts configure in outlook profile? these accounts have large number of emails or other items?

      4.  do others in organization encounter issue after upgrading office 365 latest version?

      5.  the version of outlook client. to check it, open outlook>file>office account. see screenshot below:
