Can't change my outgoing mail display name in Outlook 2016 - Microsoft Community


hi - trying change way name appears in other people's inboxes when send them email , can't.  i followed below steps found in response post little on year ago; when step 5 my email address in box in general tab but i can't type screen it's grayed out.

  1. go to file > options > advanced > click on send/receive…
  2. press the edit.
  3. select outlook.com/hotmail account on left.
  4. press the account properties.
  5. type display name account on general tab.
  6. press ok until dialogs closed , in main outlook window.

i first set outlook email when still running windows vista (!) , when had new laptop , installed 2016 hoped able change full name initials.  i have logged microsoft account , edited profile didn't seem either.

this happens because of delays on outlook server. since when did try changing name? kindly wait 3 days or , should changed.

let know how things goes profile.
