Office 365/Server/Encryption Issues - Microsoft Community


having issues office 365 outlook mail, keep getting same error message. (see below)

steps taken since: rebuilt outlook profile, turned off firewall (mcafee). changed password. installed latest updates office.

confirmed setting inbound/outbound. confirmed date , passwords correct. ran inbox fix/repair.  

in addition, email on yahoo server , not accessed thru outlook, not being marked read once read them in office 365 outlook mail. (i have pop3 account outlook.)

both of these errors started @ same time.

sending' reported error (0x800ccc1a) : 'your server not support connection encryption type have specified. try changing encryption method. contact mail server administrator or internet service provider (isp) additional assistance.'

of course isp denies issue.

any ideas?

hi karyn,

there several factors why experiencing this. can issue account settings or provider's configuration. provide correct resolution this, need clarify information. please answer following:

  • when did first encounter issue?
  • are having issues outlook.com or windows 10 outlook mail app?
  • any changes took place in computer before issue occurred?

meanwhile, suggest check option this server requires secure connection ssl on outlook account settings , verify if have enabled or disabled.

we appreciate response regarding matter.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
