Outlook cannot open an Outlook mail item attached inside a Calendar - Microsoft Community


hello there,

i created simple calendar event (in outlook) reminder myself, , attached relevant mail personal folders reference.  event created, , mail item inserted ok.

but when came later view mail item within calendar event, gives me following message (screen snapshot follows):

this has never happened before -- have been using outlook (as part of office 2007 suite) several years now, , quite sudden.  happening every mail item attach inside event in calendar feature of outlook.  pc runs windows 7 home premium edition (64 bit) , has latest updates.

would grateful tips and/or advice.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
