for it's worth, have same issue outlook 2016 (via office 365).  often text previous search, using specific search field (i.e. body, to, subject, from, etc...) gets "stuck" in field such can not delete text without removing search filed (by clicking on "x" right of field while in search ribbon context) , re-adding (by selecting filed more menu under search ribbon). 

it seems though stuck text ui bug other searches using different field don't seem consider stuck text.  

as example, if search string "john doe" in the from field of search menu, find email i'm looking for, , move on the sent folder search follow email might have sent john, although string "john doe" still appears in from field in search menu, can still put string "john doe" in to field , see results email sent john doe, not though string "john doe" appears in both to and from fields under search menu - string in the from field can not modified without removing from field search menu , re-adding described above.

the point being, bug /  issue doesn't impact search results impact users ability interact search functions.  so please don't tell re-index has nothing results returned.

the highlighted text previous search , can no longer edited / removed without removing the from and body fields clicking on x right of field , re-adding them more menu under search ribbon.

but, text doesn't impact search results need remove , re-add fields if want use either of them different search.

currently, our related team aware of issue , still investigate it. apologize inconvenience issue may cause. please use removing , re-adding search fields workaround. patience , understanding highly appreciated.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
