Office 365 Home Manage Rules box empty and Search does not work - Microsoft Community


i have been having these issues since moved personal home in march.

1.  when go search shows no results.

2.  when go manage rules , alerts box empty (even though rules still work).

what did on april 11:

1.  downloaded latest update of office: office account , office updates, version 1702 (build 7870.2038).

2.  launched outlook.  tested search , rules box, nothing fixed.

2.  ran sfc /scannow sure nothing issue in windows 10.

3.  ran scanpst.exe on pst file , found errors.  it not seem fix them all.

4.  ran scanpst.exe on pst , found errors.

5.  ran scanpst.exe on , found minor errors , indicated not necessary repair if wanted hit repair button.  issue there not repair button.

6.  launched outlook.

7.  tested search , rules box, nothing fixed.

8.  right clicked on mailbox file, (just above inbox), data file properties, advanced, compact now.

9.  managed rules box populated.

10.  search started working.

11.  went file, options, search, advanced, rebuild (to rebuild index).

12.  all working.

13.  shut down pc.

14.  tried search , manage rules on laptop , found have same issue. 

this morning april 12.

1.  turned on pc, windows 10 pro.

2.  launched outlook 2016 (365 home).

3.  search did not work , manage rules empty.

4.  right clicked on mailbox file, (just above inbox), data file properties, advanced, compact now.

5.  manage alerts works.

6.  search not.  ran scanpst (go c:\programs files (x86)\microsoft office\root\office16) , fixed errors.  btw did empty trash.  ran 3 times.

7.  launched outlook.

8.  search working.

9.  manage rules , alerts blank.

10.  did item 4 above. , manage rules works.

11.  tested search , not work.

microsoft, somehow these related.  since use search more manage rules rerun scanpst , working now.

please fix , in hurry or show me how roll prior march.  (i tried did not want work)

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
