outlook mac 2011 14.7.5 authentication failure - MacOS Sierra 10.12.5 - Microsoft Community


hi,

i have macbook air , imac, both updated macos , microsoft office, both failing authentication icloud account - "mail not received @ time" authentication failed. 

i have checked , not have two-factor authentication on. can access icloud account via safari.

i have tried rebuilding identity.

any other ideas gratefully received!

based on research , test, need turn on the 2-steps verification generate app-specific password if add icloud account in outlook mac client.

 

after generating app-specific password, please follow below steps check imap settings:

  1. imap information incoming mail server
    1. server name: imap.mail.me.com
    2. ssl required: yes
    3. port: 993
    4. username: full icloud email address .
    5. password: app-specific password.
  2. smtp information outgoing mail server
    1. server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    2. ssl required: yes
    3. port: 587
    4. smtp authentication required: yes
    5. username: your full icloud email address
    6. password: app-specific password.

 

may confirm whether way can resolve issue? please feel free let know @ convenience.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
