powerpoint 2016 taking up a lot of cpu resource - Microsoft Community

i have same problem , it's annoying killing laptop battery everytime open powerpoint presentation.

no program should consume 1 full cpu core when idle, bug or misconception.

please investigate , correct flaw.

since similar issues may have different root causes in users’ environments, investigate issue, i’d confirm , provide following.

a. consuming 1 full cpu core when idle, when happen? how open powerpoint presentation? list detailed reproducing steps? provide related screenshots?

b. files issue happen in, files saved locally or files saved online (the personal onedrive online place, onedrive business library or sharepoint online)?

c. how many slides affected presentation contain?

 

if presentation contains many slides , content, may consume many cpu resources. please confirm if issue happens in specific presentation. if occurs in specific presentation many slides , content, suggest split slides , content other presentations see outcome.
