PowerPoint crashes when saving - Microsoft Community


hi,

i'm having problem saving number of powerpoint files. files okay, many give following error when try save:

"microsoft powerpoint has stopped working".

i'm using office 2016 professional windows 10.

i have tried:

  • installing updates
  • removing add-ins
  • repairing office
  • uninstalling , reinstalling office
  • uninstalling , reinstalling windows , whole pc!
  • copying slides new deck
  • copying presentation
  • opening documents on pc - worked... it's limited configuration, re-install
  • unchecking embedded fonts

these documents worked, , started giving me error.

please help! urgently need access these documents again.

i have solved problem. here's did:

- opened new, blank ppt presentation

- copied slides one-by-one, trying save after each slide

- eventually, found 1 slide reproduced error. must have been somehow corrupt (although appeared normal) 

- re-created 1 slide scratch, , saved new presentation. replaced slide in other presentations had affected. seems fine now!

thanks of suggested troubleshooting ideas.
