Outlook AppHangB1 crash/error - Microsoft Community

i'm tech support company. user has recurring issue outlook randomly crash , throws appcrash saying apphangb1 , stuff. had outlook 2013, thought upgrading 2016 fix it, nope.

troubleshooting i've tried:

-upgrading outlook 2016

-doing quick , online repair on microsoft office 365

-had user use outlook in safe mode entire day (still crashed)

-deleted profile , created new profile

-had user disconnect , not use archives

i tried everything, figured had wrong in registry or else on laptop, gave brand new laptop base image, created brand new profile again. still crashed!!

she has on 13,000 mail in mailbox, asked clean make below 5,000 , i'm waiting hear back. but, i've helped other users out had on 16,000 mail in mailbox without issues.

what **** going on?!!?

p.s. - when set new laptop, transferred user's appdata on (excluding local\microsoft\outlook folder), possible other crap in appdata folder causes crashing? crashes has event name apphangb1

hi tommy,

don’t suggest copying user’s appdata pc. may know how set account in outlook? using exchange or pop/imap?
if using exchange or using pop/imap , keep copy on server, suggest keep newest office 365 softwares , create new profile user.
moreover, error may due large data files. since have let reduce data size, let’s wait result , see if occurs again. if yes, please
1. check anti-virus software , make sure firewall doesn’t block outlook.
2. let me know entire error message, can show me screenshot.
3. download , run sara & offcat
   sara
   https://diagnostics.outlook.com/#/
   offcat
   https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36852
4. reinstall office software , create new profile her.

regards,
alison
