experience similar on mac osx today after mac update. there console log below every time button clicked.

looks apple not recognizing outlook valid application?

may know whether you using webex plugin? if so, have received several reports issue. occurs due incompatibility between webex , outlook mac in new version. can try following workarounds: 

1.    disable/ uninstall/ update webex plug-in , relaunch outlook give try.
2.    use full screen.
3.    reinstall previous outlook version.

if don’t use plugin , same issue, please feel free let me know , provide information below.

1.    what’s detailed version of outlook mac (click outlook > outlook)? example, version: 15.31 (xxxxxx)
2.    the detailed os version. e.g. sierra 10.12.3

3.   screenshots issue.
