Compressing Powerpoint Resizes Pictures - Microsoft Community


i have powerpoint 2016 file full of full page jpegs, when went compress file resized every picture third of each slide. how can recover older version of file don't have go through , re-insert 100 images. 

one forum said go "manage document" in powerpoint couldn't find anywhere. 

i unable through technical support without having admin account, else run either of these problems , find way around?

in answer actual questions:

  1. there no "older version" of file unless either consciously created backup copies or use utility/service [such time machine/sharepoint].
  2. i have no idea "forum" may have been trying suggest without having full context or link it. can afaik there no such item manage document in version of powerpoint mac, nor recall having seen in windows version i've used.

one friendly suggestion: whenever possible it's best process images in decent image editing program in order specify resolution, print dimensions, color mode, file type, etc. leaving parameters ancillary convenience features in other software leads issues this.

another point consider flavors of jpeg are, explicit purpose of file type's development, compressed. attempt compress them further not have impact on overall document size & contribute type of anomaly experienced... term "compress" is, imho, improperly used microsoft. process lower resolution deleting pixels. may result in smaller file size, depending on parameters of image, fewer pixels can translate fewer inches.
