MS project ActualWork linked to ActualFinish - Microsoft Community


i trying update 3 fields in ms project using vba (or manually using ms project interface), seem linked. ms project not allowing me put in 3 values want. 

a. [actualstart] feb 1 2017 9am

b. [actualfinish] feb 14 2017 3pm

c. [actualwork] 20 hours

i able enter , b, after manually enter 20 hours actualwork (c), ms project changes actualfinish (b) 2/3/17 --which guess  20 hours greater actualstart of 2/1/17

please advise on how can set 3 values without ms project overwriting keep fields in sync

more information needed.what trying achieve?

is task fixed work?

how many resources assigned , @ assignment level?

what initial start, duration , finish task?

did set baseline?

the best way preserve original plan set baseline. scheduled start, finish, duration change when values manually entered actual fields. why? because project dynamic reality injected original plan schedule changed reflect happened. baseline can compare (e.g. tracking gantt view), how original plan compares current plan.
