Outlook for Mac IMAP Multiple Duplicates - Deleting deletes original - Microsoft Community


hi all,

i using imap sync emails gmail-based work email account computer, using outlook mac 2016.

once within outlook, rules sorting them folders (still within same account), not on computer.

some of them duplicating 10 times, others 3 or four.

if go through , delete of duplicates, 5mins later when syncs, original marked deleted , appears in deleted items folder (i.e. lose of them, not duplicates).

this becoming increasingly frustrating threaded emails, have go through 50-60 sets of emails in thread (6-8 copies each date/time) find right email.

any ideas??

all of threads have found have either been different or have not posed correct answer.

based on description, know emails sent duplicated when use gmail account.

 

i noticed mentioned “it sent twice”, please try following steps see whether helps:

1. click tools -> accounts -> advanced -> folders , confirm whether have enabled “don’t store copy of sent messages”.

2. totally close outlook mac client , use gmail’s web app reply emails. check whether emails duplicated. step identify whether issue related account or outlook mac.

 

if issue persists, please try updating outlook mac client. our latest public version 15.30 (170107), please navigate help -> check updates -> select manually check , click check updates.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
