Bug - Folder pane is turned off when switching between calendar and - Microsoft Community


tried posting on outlooks user voice told suggestions , try here. ms chat couldn't provide details of report this. shame ms doesn't have section in windows 10 feedback hub it's other products this.

on windows 10 64bit enterprise, connected domain, running outlook 2016 part of office 365.

sometimes when switch view mail calendar (using buttons in bottom left) , switch mail again outlook magically turns off folder pane!

sometimes graphically glitches @ same time bug , display solid block of colour matches office theme on top of mail list can't switch emails view them - have reading pane displayed on right.

you can fix manually going view ribbon , re-enabling folder pane again.

i had office 365 update , didn't use problem wonder if coincidence or related.

any how boolean settings should not switch off of there own accord!

please fix ms.

i know view settings applied on both mail , calendar navigation tabs.

by default calendar in calendar view.

 

and on outlook client settings are:

folder pane – normal

reading pane – right

 

as using outlook 2016, try disabling compact navigation (view > layout > folder pane > options… > navigation options).



 

this way setting folder pane “minimized” still shows navigation options @ bottom.

 

now regarding “glitch.. can’t switch emails view them”. referring minimized folder pane view? please correct me misunderstood. as have fixed re-enabling folder pane, try manually click “>” greater icon on top of minimized folder pane, click “pin” manually restore folder pane.

 

if issue still occurs, follow steps , provide following information narrow down issue:

  1. to delete custom views , restore default views. go run (windows + r) , type outlook.exe /cleanviews
  2. the support , recovery assistant office 365 (sara) can fix outlook client issues, automatically diagnose , find fix outlook problems. if of diagnostics tests fails, suggest solutions fix outlook issues. download , know more sara, follow link.
  3. the detailed outlook version. 
  4. the screenshot describing details of issue.
