KB4013429 Crashes embedded video in PowerPoint 2010. - Microsoft Community


i network admin few companies. among them training company 12 classrooms , single computer in each doing slideshows. worked prior march 15, , above mentioned update. after every computer updated, none can play embedded video. each system built @ different times , different manufacturers, lenovo, toshiba, generic, etc. running windows 10 32-bit or 64-bit latest updates installed. 

i removed update, rebooted, , run fine. leave computers alone 10 minutes, reinstall update, reboot, , can't play video again. 

so removed update again, rebooted, use show/hide update tool, mysteriously can't find update disable it. walked away coffee , use washroom, return , windows update telling me reboot finish same update again. 

so disabled windows update via services.msc , added gpo explicitly block until update gets fixed. grabbed file they're trying playback , try on windows 10 pc @ home.

downloaded cumulative update , it's working now. going leave automatic updates disabled, , script run once per month.
