Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the server - Microsoft Community


i hope can suggest solution problem.

i've last couple of months been having repeated problems outlook part of office 365.  problem when sending email , swapping between folders, outlook hangs 30 seconds , reports "outlook trying retrieve data server office exchange".  it's intermittent, not time, sufficiently frequent annoying - in fact outlook pretty unusable. 

outlook behaves ok when pc first started after 10 or 15 mins issue commences.

i have been in touch ms answer desk, after several calls escalated level 2.  promised me call on 2 occasions none came.

here's have done far:

  • confirmed i'm running latest versions of office , windows 10 (creator update installed last week)
  • created new profiles
  • disabled add-ons
  • uninstalled , reinstalled office
  • updated driver on graphics card
  • checked account settings - outlook works fine on cheap laptop
  • run outlook in safe mode
  • confirmed pc manufacturer hard disk (actually ssd) working ok , in view software problem

unfortunately none of these have resolved annoying problem.  have been using outlook many years without difficulty.  pc less year old, , until ran outlook fine, when internet connection slower is.

inspiration , ideas welcome.  pursue directly microsoft support.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
