video will not play in power point when HDMI plugged in - Microsoft Community


have video inserted power point. plays fine until insert hdmi plug project screen black box. in pp presentation says video cannot played.

there can variety of reasons video or audio playback issues in powerpoint. avoid audio or video playback issues in powerpoint, can optimize media files you've inserted presentation compatibility on other devices.

if presenting powerpoint presentation on classroom or auditorium projector or monitor , video files won't play, follow these steps:

  1. make sure embedded video either .mp4, .m4v, or .mov file type.
  2. make sure original video file in same folder powerpoint (.pptx) file.
  3. save powerpoint presentation , quit power point.
  4. unplug hdmi cable computer.
  5. shut down projector system or turn off monitor.  restart projector system or turn monitor on.
  6. once projector system booted or monitor on, reconnect hdmi cable computer.
  7. open powerpoint file.
