Public folders stop receiving mails with reason: 550 5.4.1 - Microsoft Community

split thread.

hello,

i'm running similar problem: exchange full hybrid setup on-premise mail-eanbled public folders. messages sent internet on-prem public folder rejected "recipient address rejected".

shouldn't case handled "sync-mailpublicfolders.ps1" script mentioned here:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn986544(v=exchg.150).aspx

at least me doesn't seem work, changing maildomain "internal relay" has solved issue hybrid environment, don't workaround, relay unneccessary stuff (non-existant recipients) on-premise exchange server generate ndrs...

would happy suggestions, thanks!

yours,

juergen

hi juergen,

normally, isssue "550 5.4.1 []: recipient address rejected: access denied", setting shared domain internal relay effective way solve it. reference:

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/fix-email-delivery-issues-for-error-code-5-4-1-in-office-365-7dcf7a8b-e00e-49f8-bf8d-74aba79c5a6a?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us&fromar=1

by saying "as relay unneccessary stuff (non-existant recipients) on-premise exchange server generate ndrs...", mean when sending emails non-existent users generate ndr? if so, expected behavior.

if not, please tell me more details it.

thanks,

robert
