Opening messages in a separate window - Microsoft Community


in outlook 2013, on windows 8.1 have problem in inbox.  when double-click on message, of time opens in new window, switches inbox. want open message in new window , go there , stay there until choose close message, reply or whatever.  how can force stay in message window - not switch inbox immediately?

if issue persists after checking display settings, suggest download , run office configuration analyzer tool (offcat). tool provides detailed report of installed office programs , highlights known problems.

you might experiencing issue because of outlook add-ins. if using third-party add-ins, recommend temporarily disable them.

to check if issue caused corrupted windows or outlook mail profile, suggest create new local user account on computer , check if experience same behavior when opening emails in outlook while on new user account.
