IMAP folders disappeared out of the sudden - Microsoft Community


hi all,

i running outlook mac 2016 v15.33 (170409), , today out of sudden lost imap subfolders.

i left default ones inbox, sent etc, , emails in folders. logged webmail of mail server , folders there. there no updates of mail server of kind in time when happened.

i restarted outlook/mac , checked disk permissions. nothing helped.

i can see imap folders under "tools / imap folders", cannot unsubscribe / subscribe them.

at end created new profile via outlook profile manager , created new account, rules, signatures etc.

why , how happened beyond me, not again time since inbox > 10 gb (i have headers of emails except inbox alas).

can provide more debugging info if needed.

from description, understand subfolders in imap account missing in folder panel of outlook 2016 mac, can check them under>tools>imap folders cannot subscribe/unsubscribe them.

also found resolve issue creating new profile.  from that, can infer there no problem account. cause of issue, based on knowledge, caused anti-virus application,  the internet envirement or unnormal account status or others. cannot sure root cause issue has been resolved creating new profile now.

so if issue happens again, feel free let know following information troubleshooting, here help.

1.       please provide screenshot of account information when issue occurs. can check under tools> account. 

2.       are there sync errors when issue happens? if yes, please provide screenshot entire sync error. can check under tools> sync errors.

3.       can send or receive emails when issue happens.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
