Cannot play media in PowerPoint - Microsoft Community

hello parth p patel,

i tried follow steps , boxes unchecked , still had no success in playing video of .mp4 format in power point.

i have 365 version , month ago had no trouble see video in computer , have flowing message: "cannot play media". tried convert file .avi , had same issue. tried find codecs but, not find updated ones.

appreciate help.

you can try optimizing media in presentation compatibility.

 

1. on file tab of ribbon, select info.

2. if media in presentation inserted in format might have compatibility issues when played on device, optimize compatibility option appear. if doesn’t appear, don’t have compatibility issues , ready share.

3. select optimize compatibility*. powerpoint improve media requires optimization.

when optimize compatibility button appears, provides summary of resolutions of potential playback issues. provides list of number of occurrences of media in presentation.
